About
My name’s Chris McClymont – I’m a student living in Sydney, Australia. I call myself Jabuti around the web – it was my WoW character’s name when I couldn’t come up with anything myself and clicked ‘random’.
OK so now you know my name and that I live in Australia. Well I’m afraid that’s all I feel like divulging here, so I guess you’ll just have to judge me based on the content of my blog. Which would probably give you the idea that I’m some kind of inconsistent, complaining geek.
Not sure what I’ll be writing yet, I seem to have ideas about describing some of the processes I go through making technology work the way I want, I guess.
Well, that’s the plan anyway. (I have no plan)
Did I forget where the backspace key was? Or is the strikeout feature just too Web 1.0 not to use?
Updated the banner image! I didn’t actually design that, or pay someone to design it for me. VideoCopilot provides really great tutorials for Adobe After Effects, and I took one of the project files and reproduced it with different text.
Ah thank god… My ISP no longer blocks port 80, which I assume is to do with the merger between my ISP, Soul and TPG Internet. Although, I did get an email from Soul telling me to cut back on the upload data. I mean, come on – The plan I’m on does say unlimited, unmetered upload data.
This website runs on Ubuntu Server 8.04 on some old Pentium 4 box I found lying around. That server has so many uses! Although now that I live about 2 hours drives away from the server, some of its features like data backup aren’t as effective.
