In the past, the bulk of my time spent on the PC was appointed to gaming – I was deeply into World of Warcraft at one stage, played custom maps on Warcraft III and Counter Strike. I had somehow lost that connection with and fondness for the World Wide Web… no longer believing that there was always something to do with a browser connected to the internet.

Now, that feeling towards the WWW has redeveloped and I find myself spending increasingly more time browsing within Firefox to fill my time.

There is just so much good content out there on the net these days. Of course, there is lots of shady content too, but you can disregard those and once you find a site with something quality to offer you keep coming back.

Sources of entertainment that I usually visit daily include (although if you know what the internet is, you probably know most of these anyway):

  • Revision3.com – an absolutely awesome web television site that provides a great variety of video content like the amazing DiggNation and Tekzilla.
  • ChannelFlip.com – an internet tv website like the above with the premise of short videos in a shuffled order of category
  • Digg.com – The popular social, user submitted story promoter.
  • HackADay.com – The site that links to one interesting technological hack every day.
  • Netcasts (I too do not like the term podcast) – I enjoy the work of Leo Laporte in such shows as “This Week in Tech” and “Windows Weekly”
